Terms of Service
Last updated: 9 September 2026
What this means
These terms cover this website and the Arc chat service at chat.geocentricai.com. Arc is free and has no accounts, so subscriptions, refunds and API licensing do not apply yet. If we add them, we will update this document and say so.
The parts that matter: you own what you type; we do not claim ownership of what the model writes back; you are responsible for what you submit and for what you do with the output; and by default we keep nothing — retention and training both wait on a setting you switch on yourself.
Agreement to these terms
By using this website or the Arc chat service, you agree to these Terms of Service and to the Acceptable Use Policy, which forms part of them. On your first visit we ask you to confirm that you meet the minimum age and to accept these terms; your answers are recorded in your browser. If you do not agree, please do not use the services.
Who you are contracting with
Geocentric is an independent company operated by an individual owner as a sole proprietorship. It is not a limited liability company or a corporation, and it does not publish a business address. The contact routes below reach the owner directly.
Eligibility
Geocentric is not intended for individuals under 16. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Services. If we learn that an individual under 16 has provided personal information through the Services, we will take appropriate steps to address the account and associated data in accordance with applicable law. We ask you to confirm your age before you use the Services. If you are between 16 and the age of majority where you live, you may use the Services only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who agrees to these terms on your behalf. Geocentric may separately authorise a named individual under 16 to use the Services for internal development and safety testing, on the terms set out in our Children's Privacy notice; that authorisation is issued by us and is not available on request.
You must not use the services if you are barred from doing so under applicable law, or if we have previously restricted your access for a violation of these terms.
Your responsibilities
Using an AI service does not move responsibility for your conduct onto the person who built the model. In plain terms:
- You are responsible for your prompts, inputs, uploads, your use of outputs, and the actions you take using the model.
- You must hold the rights and permissions necessary for the content you submit.
- You must comply with applicable law.
- You may not use the service to infringe third-party rights.
- Geocentric does not endorse and does not assume responsibility for users' independent conduct.
- We may suspend or restrict access for violations of these terms.
- Our limitations of liability remain subject to applicable law and do not exclude what cannot lawfully be excluded.
The Acceptable Use Policy sets out specifically what is and is not permitted, and it is written to leave legitimate technical work alone.
Accounts
There are currently no accounts. The Arc chat service does not ask you to register, does not issue credentials, and does not authenticate you. Your conversation history is kept in your own browser.
If we introduce accounts in the future, we will require accurate registration information, you will be responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account, and we will ask for your explicit agreement to the terms then in force at the point of sign-up.
The service
Arc is an experimental text-generation model developed by Geocentric and served from infrastructure we control. It generates text and code. Its measured configuration, evaluation results and known limitations are published on its model card, including responses where it performed badly.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the services, including individual models, at any time. Arc is a research release, not a product with an availability commitment. We do not offer a service level agreement, and we may impose rate limits or other technical controls to keep the service available and to prevent abuse.
No public API. Geocentric does not currently offer a public API, API keys, or programmatic access plans. The HTTP endpoints used by the chat interface exist to serve that interface.
Payment
The services are free of charge and we do not process payments. There is no subscription, no billing system, no payment processor, and therefore no cancellation or refund process. We do not collect payment card details anywhere.
If we introduce paid plans, we will publish clear pricing, cancellation and refund terms before charging anyone, and we will not enable a charge on an existing free user without their affirmative agreement.
Your input, and what we do with it
You keep whatever rights you already have in the text you send to a Geocentric model. We do not claim ownership of it.
We use your input to generate a response and return it to you. By default we do not keep it: nothing is written to storage unless you turn on the setting below. We do not sell your prompts or responses, and we never will.
Retention and training are opt-in together. We keep conversations, and use them to improve and align Geocentric models, only where you have turned on the setting "Send my prompts and Geocentric's responses to help improve and train Geocentric models." It is off unless you switch it on, it is separate from your agreement to these terms, and you can switch it off at any time in Settings. What we keep under it is deleted within 30 days.
Reporting a response is a separate, deliberate act: the interface shows you the transcript that will be attached and requires you to confirm before it is sent. Reports are deleted within 30 days and are never used as training data.
One honest consequence of how model training works: if content was already incorporated into a trained model before you withdrew consent or before the 30-day deletion, deleting the stored copy does not remove its influence from that model. We cannot un-train a checkpoint. Full detail is in the Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for having the rights necessary to submit what you submit, and for the content itself.
Output
As between you and Geocentric, we do not claim ownership of the output a model generates for you, except where the output incorporates material Geocentric owns, or where a limited licence is required for us to operate the service.
Some honest limits on what that means:
- We cannot grant you copyright in output. In the United States and several other jurisdictions, material generated by an AI system without sufficient human authorship may not be protected by copyright at all. Whether any particular output is protectable is a question we cannot answer for you.
- Output is not guaranteed to be unique. Another user submitting a similar prompt may receive similar or identical text.
- Output is not guaranteed to be non-infringing. A language model can produce text that resembles material it was trained on. We do not warrant that output is free of third-party rights.
Deciding whether and how to use output is yours. If you publish it, you take responsibility for it.
Geocentric's intellectual property
Geocentric owns, or licenses, the website, its design and code, our training and evaluation software, our model architectures, model weights and checkpoints, the serving infrastructure, the Geocentric name and wordmark, the compact mark, the model character artwork, and our other proprietary technology. Nothing in these terms transfers any of it to you.
Using the service does not give you a licence to extract, copy, or reconstruct our model weights, or to build a substantially equivalent service from our outputs.
What we do and do not promise
Arc is a 120.8M-parameter experimental model. Its published evaluation shows fluent English alongside inconsistent factual accuracy, arithmetic and instruction following. Expect output that is sometimes incorrect, incomplete, out of date, insecure as code, biased, or simply irrelevant to what you asked.
The services are provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, that output will be accurate, or that defects will be corrected.
Professional judgement. Arc can discuss medical, legal, financial, insurance, employment, housing, credit and similar topics — we have not built it to refuse ordinary questions. What it produces is information, not professional advice, and it is not a substitute for a qualified professional who knows your circumstances. Do not use Geocentric output as the sole basis for a decision that materially affects someone's rights, health, safety, finances, employment, housing, credit, insurance, education, or access to government services. See our AI and Model Disclosure.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Geocentric and those working with it will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill, arising out of or relating to your use of the services.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the services is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the services in the twelve months before the claim — which, while the services are free, is nothing — or (b) one hundred US dollars.
These limits do not apply to liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for fraudulent misrepresentation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, and in those places these limits apply only to the extent permitted.
Indemnity
If your use of the services in breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy causes a third-party claim against us, you agree to indemnify us for the reasonable costs and damages directly arising from that claim. We will notify you promptly of any such claim and will not settle it in a way that imposes an obligation on you without your consent.
This does not apply to claims arising from our own conduct, and it does not apply to consumers to the extent applicable consumer law does not permit it.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using the services at any time. Because there are no accounts, there is nothing to close; clearing your browser's site data for chat.geocentricai.com removes your stored conversations.
We may restrict or block access where use violates these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, threatens the security or availability of the service, or is required by law. Where the situation allows it, we would rather apply a rate limit or a temporary block than a permanent one, and we take context, severity, intent and recurrence into account. Sections on intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law survive termination.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the current version. For changes that materially reduce your rights or materially expand ours, we will give notice on this website before they take effect, and we will ask you to accept again. Continuing to use the services after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Oklahoma, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Courts located in Oklahoma will have jurisdiction, and you and Geocentric consent to that jurisdiction.
There is no forced arbitration clause and no class-action waiver in these terms. We have deliberately not included one. If that changes, it will be presented conspicuously, with an opt-out procedure, and not buried in a routine update.
If you live in a jurisdiction whose law gives you the right to bring proceedings locally or to rely on mandatory local consumer protections, nothing here removes that right. Nothing in these terms waives rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
